The United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration (“OSHA”) issued a November 19th news release stating that the agency had cited three Austin, Texas-based employers involved in commercial real estate renovation for allegedly exposing workers to asbestos in a residential apartment construction work site in San Antonio, Texas.
OSHA states that after a May 29 inspection FBZ Broadway LP and Roscoe Properties, Inc. were each cited for one willful violation for determining the location and quantity of asbestos.
The news release also notes that FBZ Broadway was cited for the same violation on April 28th and One Eighty Construction was cited for one willful violation for failure to ensure that workers follow asbestos removal practices.
The penalties proposed for each company are stated to be:
- FBZ Broad LP - $14,180
- One Eighty Construction, Inc. - $35,000
- Roscoe Properties, Inc. - $63,000
