Mr. Ed Swaim of the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission (“ANRC”) undertook a February 22, 2016 presentation at an Arkansas Conservation Partnership meeting titled Water: Your Farm, Your Finances & Your Future.
Mr. Swaim is Water Resources Management Manager of the ANRC and managed the development of the recently revised Arkansas Water Plan.
Mr. Swaim’s presentation provided both a historical and current perspective on Arkansas water withdrawals and conservation efforts.
The presentation included a discussion of three key Arkansas surface water delivery projects:
- Grand Prairie
- Bayou Meto
- Plum Bayou
The current and future role of these and other surface water delivery projects in water conservation was addressed.
Mr. Swaim also discussed the prior and current versions of the Arkansas Water Plan.
