Sherrel Johnson of the Union County Water Conservation Board passed along a note regarding the United States Geological Survey ("USGS") Arkansas Water Science Center.
Mr. Dave Freiwald, USGS Arkansas, informed her that the USGS Arkansas Water Science Center is consolidating with four other states' science centers, including Louisiana's to become the Lower Mississippi Gulf Water Science Center.
Ms. Johnson also noted in her correspondence:
W. Scott Gain in Nashville, Tennessee will lead the new multi-state center. Although Dave's position title changes to Associate Director for Interpretative Studies, his role and leadership at the Arkansas center remains the same. We should see no difference in services.
