(LITTLE ROCK, Ark.) — Attorney Devin Bates was honored with the Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award in the large firm category at the Arkansas Access to Justice Month Kickoff event on October 5. The event was organized by the Arkansas Access to Justice Commission to celebrate Access to Justice Month in Arkansas.
Devin was honored for providing an outstanding level of pro bono service demonstrated by his commitment to assist underserved populations in Arkansas. In the past three years, Devin has provided 541 hours of pro bono service. In addition, he encourages other Mitchell Williams attorneys to undertake pro bono work and actively recruits other attorneys, particularly Associates, to engage in work on his pro bono cases. Throughout the cases, Devin coaches Associates and helps them gain practical litigation experience. It also enlists Associates in pro bono service early in their careers.
Devin is a trial lawyer with experience in complex litigation including business matters, intellectual property disputes, constitutional litigation and products liability actions. He represents clients in conflicts involving governmental agencies and in administrative proceedings. Devin also represents schools, advising clients to find practical, clear, and comprehensive solutions to difficult challenges.
