Mitchell Williams values giving back to the communities where we work and live. Throughout the year, our attorneys and staff provide pro bono legal services to help individuals and organizations in need. By helping those in need, we strengthen our relationship with our communities and fulfill our ethical obligation as lawyers to the cause of the impoverished, the defenseless and the oppressed.
Through pro bono work, we are engaged with constitutional rights, racial and socioeconomic injustice, expungements and youth affairs. We also support our Take Time To Give charities and many of our attorneys contribute pro bono services in their community involvement roles. In 2023, our team contributed 721 hours to pro bono matters. We partner with a variety of organizations to provide pro bono services including:
- Arkansas Access to Justice
- Arkansas Bar Association
- Arkansas Legal Aid
- CASA
- Center for Arkansas Legal Services
- United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit
- United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas
- University of Arkansas School of Law Delta Initiative
- WelcomeHealth
Our Pro Bono Committee supports our attorneys in their efforts to assist organizations and individuals. By adopting a policy that gives our attorneys billable hour credit for pro bono work, we demonstrate that pro bono services are respected with the same value and credibility as other legal work. Additionally, pro bono work provides attorneys and staff the opportunity to work on special interests, diversify their professional experiences, exercise creative legal skills and give back to the community.
