(LITTLE ROCK, Ark.) — Attorney Cara Butler has successfully completed Leadership Greater Little Rock Class XXXIX, the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce's annual community leadership program committed to enhancing and connecting leaders from businesses, nonprofits and government. She graduated from the nine-month course for emerging leaders at a ceremony on May 23.
Cara and other members of the Leadership Greater Little Rock class attended monthly in-depth sessions on topics such as the region's economic development, health care, education and criminal justice systems. Over the course of the program, class participants were exposed to the challenges and opportunities facing the region and introduced to local community business leaders who present as panelists and speakers.
Cara is an employment attorney and combines her knowledge and experience to counsel businesses and not-for-profits on employment and workplace issues to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws. She advises businesses and not-for-profits on employment and workplace issues. She counsels employers on wage and hour compliance matters with federal, state and local laws. She advises human resources and business executives on management issues related to hiring and termination procedures, employee discipline procedures, state and federal leave laws and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Prior to joining Mitchell Williams, Cara gained extensive knowledge of employment law as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Lavenski R. Smith of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
Cara serves on the Baptist Health Foundation Board. She is a member of the Arkansas Bar Association, Arkansas Association of Women Lawyers and the Arkansas Association of Defense Counsel. She also serves on the Mitchell Williams DEI Council.
