LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (July 10, 2017) Craig Cockrell, counsel with Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard P.L.L.C. in Rogers, was named to the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40,” an annual list recognizing young leaders in the business and professional community in Northwest Arkansas.
Cockrell, 32, is a member of the firm’s business practice group. He is experienced in providing tax analysis to municipalities, state agencies and underwriters on matters related to municipal bond financing. He is an integral part of the law firm’s municipal and public finance team, where he has aided cities, universities and other public entities in the issuance of more than $570 million in bonds over the past five years.
He also represents individuals and businesses in tax matters before the IRS and Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, and represents businesses that need legal assistance related to stock and asset acquisitions, sales, mergers and real estate transactions. In addition, his clients include nonprofit organizations and individuals in other tax-related matters.
Cockrell has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arkansas. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law and earned a Master of Laws in taxation from the University of Florida Levin School of Law.
He currently serves on the board of Junior Achievement of Northwest Arkansas and is on the Mercy Health Foundation Planned Giving Committee. He is a member of the Arkansas Bar Association’s Section of Taxation.
