(ROGERS, Ark.) — Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard, P.L.L.C. is pleased to welcome Attorneys Emily McCord and Blake Brizzolara to the firm. Both join the litigation practice in Rogers.
Emily is a highly skilled attorney with extensive experience working with corporate clients to manage tort and commercial litigation matters, develop compliance programs and provide business operations and asset protection counsel. She strategically manages the negotiation, resolution and defense of complex claims and disputes brought against corporate clients. She assists clients in the development of new business strategies to ensure best practices and legal compliance and regularly counsels clients on the creation, enhancement, implementation and assessment of compliance programs. Emily also advises corporate clients on government and internal investigations, corporate compliance and training and communication strategies related to high-profile litigation, crisis management and reputational risk matters.
Emily serves as president of the board of the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter, is a member of church council at Central United Methodist Church in Rogers and serves on the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation board. She is a graduate of Leadership Arkansas.
She earned a juris doctor, cum laude, from the University of Arkansas School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Arkansas.
Blake represents businesses and individuals in a wide range of business disputes, commercial litigation and tort disputes. He focuses his practice on complex business tort litigation, breach of contract disputes, insurance defense and trust and estate disputes. He has successfully represented clients in a complicated trust lawsuit and breach of contract disputes. Blake works diligently to understand his clients’ goals and uses that perspective to help them successfully navigate the litigation process or create dispute avoidance strategies. Prior to entering private practice, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Kristine G. Baker of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas.
Blake serves as dean of the School of Public Administration for Arkansas Boys State and is an Eagle Scout.
He earned a juris doctor, cum laude, from the University of Arkansas School of Law and graduated, magna cum laude, from the University of Central Arkansas with Bachelor of Science degree in political science and economics.
