The Arkansas Supreme Court recently conferred to Mitchell Williams Partner John S. Selig the status of attorney emeritus for his years "of dedication and honorable service to the legal profession," in Arkansas for his 50-plus years of service as an attorney.
During his legal career, Selig has primarily represented individuals and companies in complex business transactions. He has provided counsel to companies in raising significant monies through public and private offerings of securities and assisting them in forming, buying, selling and merging other businesses and providing advice to senior executives and boards of directors of numerous businesses. He has served as general counsel to a bank holding company and as lead counsel in a number of securities matters including taking companies public, raising funds through private or intrastate offerings and representing broker-dealers and investment advisors before state and federal securities regulatory agencies and self-regulatory agencies.
Selig was recently ranked as Senior Statesman in the 2017 edition of Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business and has repeatedly been recognized by Best Lawyers in America. He has long been committed to community service serving in leadership roles on boards of many organizations.
