Arkansas Business has named Anton Janik, Jr., an attorney with Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard, P.L.L.C., to its 2012 "40 under 40" list. According to the publication, the annual list features a collection of 40 business and political leaders under 40 years old who are worth watching. Honorees are chosen based on their impact to their organization and the community. Janik's practice focuses on complex commercial, class action, insurance defense and tax litigation matters. In his tax practice, he represents business entities and high net worth individuals in both domestic and international tax matters before county, state and federal taxing authorities. He received the U.S. Attorney General's Outstanding Attorney Award in 2005 and again in 2006. Janik currently serves as a board member for the Arkansas Foodbank Network, the Downtown Little Rock Partnership, and the Arkansas Zoological Foundation. He also is a member of the UAMS Consortium and Arkansas Children's Hospital Foundation Professional Advisory Council. Before joining the firm, Janik was a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. While there, he represented the Internal Revenue Service and practiced in the federal district and bankruptcy courts throughout the 9th and 10th Circuits.
