LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Attorney Anton Janik presented today at the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants virtual 59th Annual Arkansas Federal Tax Institute. His presentation outlined the history of IRS foreign account reporting, including the various present and expired reporting mechanisms and voluntary disclosure and disclosure-like opportunities, to get clients current in their reporting. He also discussed the steps necessary to keep clients’ reporting up-to-date with the IRS and Treasury Department.
Janik is an experienced trial attorney with a specialized practice in complex litigation, tax controversies and information security and privacy. He advises businesses and individuals on tax controversies, investigations and corporate compliance, employee privacy, data protection and social media. Janik is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) and a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E). He also leads the Tax Controversy and Litigation practice area and co-leads the Information Security & Privacy practice area. Janik previously served as a Trial Attorney with the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.
