LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Attorneys David Biscoe Bingham and Ashley Gill presented at the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants virtual 59th Annual Arkansas Federal Tax Institute. They discussed the common issues and recent developments in trust income taxation.
Biscoe Bingham is a native of the Little Rock area and focuses his practice on estate planning, probate, trust law (taxation, litigation, and administration), state and federal income taxation (businesses and individuals) and the structuring and taxation of business entities (formation and sales/re-combinations). He represents individuals, couples and families in estate planning from straightforward wills to complex generation-skipping trusts and makes sure his clients’ assets are transmitted in the most tax-efficient manner. In addition, when representing clients in business entity formations or sales, he makes sure the entrepreneurs and ownership groups utilizing these entities choose the correct entity to minimize taxation and facilitate the transmission of the business’s value to the owners or their heirs, whether the business is passed on or sold. Biscoe Bingham also assists non-profit entities with formation, operations and qualifying and maintaining tax-exempt status.
Gill focuses her practice primarily on estate planning and administration, taxation, commercial transactions and corporate law. She regularly counsels clients on various wealth transfer strategies, including income, estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax, asset protection, business succession and charitable planning to structure plans that both minimize estate shrinkage and maximize the achievement of non-tax goals. Gill also provides general business and tax advice to both publicly-held and privately-held companies in connection with mergers and acquisitions, corporation reorganizations, stock restructurings, company dispositions and employee compensation plans designed to promote efficiency and employee productivity.
