Arkansas Bar Foundation presents Best in General Writing Award

LITTLE ROCK, AR. – Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard, P.L.L.C. Attorneys Kathlyn Graves and Nathan Read received the Arkansas Bar Foundation’s 2018-19 writing award for best in general category. Graves and Read were presented the award from the Arkansas Bar Foundation during the Annual Foundation Membership Meeting in Hot Springs.
Graves and Read’s co-authored article, “Investigation of Employee Harassment Claims,” appeared in the Spring 2018 edition of The Arkansas Lawyer. The article discussed the duty of employers to prevent and resolve harassment claims in the workplace and provided guidance on how to recognize and investigate a claim of workplace harassment.
Graves has more than 30 years of experience representing management in all areas of employment and labor relations, including state and federal employment litigation and in administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Her wealth of experience benefits her clients in all areas of employment-related matters.
Read has extensive experience representing employers in all matters of labor and employment law with a focus on employment counseling and employment litigation. He represents individuals and companies in various contract disputes and business tort litigation, including intellectual property disputes and unfair competition claims. He advises businesses and executives with respect to the drafting and enforcement of employment, confidentiality, restrictive covenant and severance agreements and counsels clients on matters such as obligations under the state and federal statutes to specific contractual duties. He also advises businesses and management in developing personnel policies, personnel procedures and employment handbooks.
