LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Attorneys Walter Wright, Wade Bowen and Matt Brunson presented an educational seminar for the Arkansas Manufactured Housing Association (AMHA) this week to provide updates on the changes to the state’s landlord-tenant statute. They discussed the provisions contained in amendments to the state’s landlord-tenant law, which were adopted by the Arkansas General Assembly earlier this year. Including basic ‘habitability standards’ for rented properties and other additional protections for renters, these new provisions become effective statewide on July 28.
Wright has more than 30 years of experience in environmental, energy and water law. His expertise includes counseling clients on issues involving environmental permits, compliance strategies, enforcement defense, property redevelopment issues, environmental impact statements and procurement/management of water rights. Wright routinely advises developers, lenders, petroleum marketers and others about effective strategies for structuring real estate and corporate transactions to address environmental financial risks.
Bowen is a business and tax lawyer who advises businesses and individual clients on a diverse range of tax law, tax-related issues and business matters. He assists clients with business formations, business sales and acquisitions, lending and real estate transactions and commercial matters.
Brunson focuses his litigation practice on insurance defense, premises liability and commercial disputes, including contract, landlord-tenant and debtor-creditor matters. As part of his practice, Brunson has represented banks, businesses, credit unions and property owners in both state and federal court including appellate court, mediation and arbitration.
