LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard, P.L.L.C. has named attorneys Rachael Padgett, Nathan Read and Stanton Strickland as members of the law firm effective Jan. 1.
Rachael Padgett, who practices in Austin, has a diverse healthcare and benefits practice representing institutional and individual clients in transactions, administrative proceedings and litigation as well as counseling on operational and regulatory issues. A majority of her work is focused on counseling managed care clients concerning insurance regulatory matters, license applications, product filings and compliance with other health related laws. She earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin.
Nathan Read practices in Rogers and has extensive experience representing employers in all matters of employment law with a focus on employment counseling and employment litigation. He advises businesses, executives and management on employment obligations under the state and federal statutes. He counsels clients on the enforcement of employment, confidentiality, restrictive covenant, non-compete and severance agreements. He earned a Juris Doctor from Temple University Beasley School of Law, a Master of Arts in International Affairs from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Lyon College. He was recognized as a Mid-South Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Stanton Strickland, who also practices in Austin, advises insurance companies and other clients on a wide range of regulatory matters including licensure, examinations, holding company transactions, receiverships, policy form, rate filings, rulemaking, agency contracts, public information requests and disciplinary actions. Strickland is a former Deputy Commissioner of the Legal Division at the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI). He joined the Mitchell Williams Insurance Regulatory team after serving at TDI for 21 years. He earned a Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Management from Baylor University. He was recognized by The Best Lawyers in America© 2019 for Insurance Law.
