ROGERS, ARK. – Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard, P.L.L.C., in conjunction with The Payroll Company (TPC), will host a free employment seminar in Springdale on Thursday, Feb. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Jones Center located at 922 E. Emma Ave. Employers and human resources professionals are invited to attend.
Attorneys Nathan Read and Jacob McElroy will discuss the complexities of wage and hour laws including a review of wage and hour litigation trends in 2018, wage and hour compliance and how to spot issues, structuring job descriptions to meet exemption guidelines, non-compete and NDA documents and Arkansas’ new minimum wage law. The seminar will also explore harassment in the workplace including how to develop comprehensive and effective polices, complaint systems, investigations, disciplinary actions and effective training.
Nathan Read has extensive experience representing employers in all matters of employment law with a focus on employment counseling and employment litigation. He advises businesses, executives and management on employment obligations under the state and federal statutes.
Jacob McElroy has experience in litigation and employment law. He conducts investigatory research to prevent or prepare for litigation and assists on tort matters. He also researches wage-and-hour compliance including the application of exemptions from overtime requirements.
