(LITTLE ROCK, Ark.) — Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard, P.L.L.C. welcomes Arkansas Commitment Student Scholars Sabian Murry and Derrick Young for the summer.
Sabian Murry is a 2023 honor graduate of Bryant Hight School in Bryant, Arkansas where she served as president of the senior class as well as chapter president of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). She plans to attend the University of Chicago in the fall and has been an Arkansas Commitment scholar since 2019.
Derrick Young will be a senior at eStem High School in Little Rock, Arkansas where he is a member of the student council, Beta Club, Mu Alpha Theta and National Honors Society. Derrick also enjoys running cross country for his high school and has been an emerging scholar with the Arkansas Commitment program since 2022.
The Mitchell Williams summer intern program was designed specifically for Arkansas Commitment student scholars to introduce students to the legal profession with a focus on private practice.
About Arkansas Commitment
Since 1999, Arkansas Commitment has provided free supplemental counseling to students within the Central Arkansas Area. Their goal is to equip students with leadership skills, the academic prowess and exposure to institutions of higher learning to ensure a successful transition from high school to college. In addition to college counseling from 10th-12th grades, students within the program will receive free college essay writing workshops, academic tutors, college tours, as well as semester-long ACT prep classes provided by Huntington Learning Center.
