The deadline has been extended to January 22, 2024, by 5:00 PM.
The funding opportunity is provided as part of the U.S. Geological Survey (“USGS”)104(b) program as instituted by the Water Resources Act of 1984.
The AWRC announcement notes that funding is conditioned upon USGS funds being provided. However, the organization further states that funding is anticipated as follows:

- Student research up to $10,000
Eligible applicants are stated to include:
- Any faculty member or affiliate at a college or university in Arkansas
- Students with a faculty advisor
Federal employees are not eligible as a principal investigator but are allowed to collaborate with faculty as a co-investigator.
The AWRC notice which contains a link to the full request for the pre-proposals, can be found here.
