The United States Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) announced in an October 25th news release it has selected the National Appropriate Technology Center’s incubator farm training facility in Fayetteville, Arkansas to receive a grant of $100,000.
The Woolsey Incubator Farm will receive the funding under the 2018 Environmental Education Grants Program.
EPA states that the $100,000 grant will enable the Woolsey Incubator Farm to:
. . . train beginning farmers on sustainable agriculture production and farm management.
The facility is also stated to provide innovative workshops and hands-on training for the community on environmental stewardship and sustainable agriculture. Objectives include reaching “diverse audiences, including current and prospective farmers, students, and other interested community members.”
The grant is one of 37 that EPA states will be administered under this program.
