The Arkansas Department of Energy & Environment – Division of Environmental Quality (“DEQ”) submitted a March 29th notice pursuant to its E&E Mailing List to Type A Emission Inventory Permitted facility representatives regarding the 2021 Emission Inventory Report submission process.
DEQ indicates that the 2021 Emission Inventory Report submission process was initiated on January 1st.
A Clean Air Act Emission Inventory is a database that lists, by source, the amount of air pollutants discharged to the atmosphere during a year or other time period. Emission inventories are used to determine significant sources of air pollutants and to target regulatory actions. The provide input to mathematical models that estimate air quality. The effect on air quality of regulatory actions can be predicted by applying estimated emissions reductions to emissions inventory data and air quality models.
DEQ states in its notice that a courtesy letter was sent to all Type A reporting facilities with correct mailing address information on file. The letters are stated to contain information regarding the 2021 Emission Inventory.
Key points made by DEQ’s notice:
- If changes are necessary, please complete a new SLEIS application form (available via the DEQ SLEIS website) and submit it to DEQ (e-mail submission to emissioninventory@adeq.state.ar.us is acceptable) by April 30, 2022.
- Facilities must complete data entry in SLEIS and notify DEQ that data entry is complete by the data entry deadline of June 30, 2022.
