The American Public Power Association (“APPA”) announced the public power utilities that earned the Reliable Public Power Provider (“RP3”) designation.
APPA states that this designation is provided to public power utilities that provide reliable and safe electric service.
Hope Water & Light (Arkansas) was named a designee at the Platinum Level.
The RP3 designation lasts for three years and recognizes public power utilities that demonstrate proficiency in the following four disciplines:
- Reliability.
- Safety.
- Workforce Development.
- System Improvement.
Criteria are stated to include sound business practices and a utility-wide commitment to safe and reliable delivery of electricity.
APPA describes itself as the “voice of non-for-profit, community-owned utilities that power approximately 2,000 towns and cities in the United States.
