Representative Payton introduced House Bill (“HB”) 1664 that addresses fees on waste tires.
The fees are a component of the Arkansas Waste Tire program.
The bill includes provisions that:
- Defines a “new tire” as a tire that contains at least 75% mold spews
- States that the fee imposed for each new tire is increased from $2.00 to $3.00
- Decreases the fee imposed for truck tires from $3.00 to $2.00
- Addresses payment procedures for new tire fees and who is responsible for such payment
HB 1664 has been referred to the Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee.
Note that HB 1267 which undertakes a variety of revisions to the Arkansas Waste Tire program was previously introduced.
