The Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment - Division of Environmental Quality (“DEQ”) issued an August 15th news release stating that it is updating its Advanced Bus and Clean (ABC) Transportation program.
The objectives of the DEQ ABC program are to:
- Reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) from school and transit buses in Arkansas communities
- Encourage the development of alternative fuels infrastructure in the State of Arkansas
DEQ is now accepting applications from public school districts and transit authorities with the intention of awarding up to $7,671,688 for eligible projects for the selected applicants.
DEQ states that eligible projects will include replacement of school or transit buses with alternative-fueled or all-electric equipment vehicles.
Funding for the program is derived from the Volkswagen Settlement fund.
Applications will be received via ePortal at https://eportal.adeq.state.ar.us/?FormTag=ABC_App and must be received by October 31, 2022.
Further information regarding the ABC program and detailed application instructions can be found at https://www.adeq.state.ar.us/air/grants.aspx.
