The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (“LDEQ”) and Gulf South Pipeline Company, LP (“Gulf South”) entered into a Settlement to address alleged air permit violations. See Settlement Tracking No. SA-AE-21-0032.
The Settlement provides that Gulf South owns and/or operates a natural gas compressor station (“Station”) in Bossier Parish, Louisiana.
The Consolidated Compliance Order & Notice of Potential Penalty (“Order”) indicates that the Station operates or has operated under the authority of a Clean Air Act Title V permit.
The Order further indicates that a representative of LDEQ either inspected the Station or conducted a file review of the Station to determine compliance with regulations promulgated in the Louisiana Administrative Code, Title 33.
Violations alleged in the Order include:
- Failure to maintain documentation of maintenance for compressor engine No. 2, compressor engine No. 3, and compressor engine No. 4
- Failure to maintain documentation of maintenance for the Auxiliary Generator
The Settlement provides that Gulf South denies it committed any violations or that it is liable for any fines, forfeitures, and/or penalties.
Gulf South agrees to a payment in the amount of $3,000 of which $779.65 represents LDEQ’s enforcement costs.
