The Mississippi Commission on Environmental Quality (“MCEQ”) and Producers Rice Mill, Inc. (“Producers”) entered into a July 6th Agreed Order (“AO”) addressing an alleged violation of an air permit. See Order No. 7201 22.
The AO provides that Producers owns and operates a rice mill (“Mill”) located in Greenville, Mississippi.
The Mill is stated to have submitted an application dated March 14, 2022, to the Permit Board of the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (“MDEQ”) for the renewal of Synthetic Minor Operating Permit No. 2800-00114 on March 23rd.
Producers is alleged to have failed to make application not less than 180 days prior to the expiration date of the Permit for its renewal. This is alleged to have violated the Mill’s Synthetic Minor Operating Permit, Section 1.C.1.
The AO provides that the Mill is required to comply with the conditions set forth in the Synthetic Minor Operating Permit that was issued on August 2, 2017, and modified on September 26, 2019, until MDEQ’s Environmental Permits Division acts on the previously referenced renewal application.
