The American Coatings Association (“ACA”) issued its annual sustainability report titled:
ACA Sustainability Report 2024 (“Report”).
ACA describes itself as a:
...voluntary, nonprofit trade association working to advance the needs of the U.S. paint and coatings industry and the professionals who work in it.
The organization’s members are described as manufacturing architectural, industrial (factory-applied), and specialty purposed coatings, including automotive refinish, traffic marketing, and marine coatings.
The 2024 Report is stated to provide an assessment of the sustainability drivers and initiatives “propelling the U.S. paint and coatings industry”. Included are examples of activities ACA member companies are stated to be undertaking in relation to sustainability.
Key chapters in the Report include:
- Looking Toward a Greener Future.
- Sustainability in the Paint and Coatings Industry.
- Innovation Leads to Environmental Improvement - UN SDG #9: “Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure”.
- Responsible Production and Recycling – UN SDG #12: “Responsible Consumption and Production”.
- Improving Quality of Life – UN SDG #3: “Good Health and Well-being”.
- Economic Contributions and Worker Safety – UN SDG #8: “Decent Work and Economic Growth”.
- Engaging in Partnerships – UN SDG #17: “Partnerships for the Goals”.
- Improving the Community and Climate – UN SDG #11: “Sustainable Cities and Communities”.
