Arkansas Abandoned Pesticide Advisory Board (“Board”) is scheduled to meet on August 17th.
The meeting will be held via Zoom only at 9:30 a.m.
The Arkansas Department of Agriculture describes the Arkansas Abandoned Pesticide Program as a method for farmers to safely and properly dispose of old or unwanted pesticides. State statutory authority for the Board is found in Ark. Code. Ann. § 8-7-1204.
The Board consists of six members which include:
- Representative from the Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation
- Representative from the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission
- Representative from the University Cooperative Extension Service
- Representative from the Arkansas Department of Energy & Environment – Division of Environmental Quality
- Representative from the United States Natural Resources Conservation Service
- Representative from the Arkansas Department of Agriculture
The Board selects 10 counties per year with the goal of holding at least one pesticide collection event in every county in Arkansas.
