The Arkansas Department of Agriculture announced that the Arkansas State Plant Board Bureau of Standards Committee will meet on November 14th.
The meeting will be held at the Arkansas Department of Agriculture, which is located at 1 Natural Resources Drive, at 1:30 PM in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The Bureau of Standards’ primary mission is described by the Arkansas Department of Agriculture as the promotion of equity and fairness of Arkansas commerce involving weighing or measuring for commercial purposes.
Examples of areas of interest include:
- LP gas meter testing
- Scale
- Fuel dispenser
- Pricing
- Packaging regulation
- Petroleum products testing
- Net quantity
- Test equipment calibration
The weights and measures program investigates consumer complaints concerning pricing, short measure of purchased products, method of sale and operation of scales and dispensers. Such inspections are conducted in accordance with Arkansas Ann. Code and National Institute of Standards and Technology Handbooks 44, 130, and 133.
Agenda items for the November 14th meeting include:
- Quarterly violations
- Request to revise civil penalties associated with cases BS 23-003 & BS 23-0004
