The Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment – Division of Environmental Quality (“DEQ”) Solid Waste Office publishes quarterly a newsletter titled:
What is New with Solid Waste @ DEQ?
DEQ has issued the October 2020 edition.
Topics addressed in the October 2020 edition include:
- Statewide Extra-Large Tire Program (referencing efforts to address the estimated 11,000 extra-large tires stockpiled statewide)
- E-Waste and Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event (referencing the Southwest Central Regional Solid Waste Management District e-waste and household waste collection event scheduled for October 17th at two different locations)
- Submittal of Groundwater Reports (referencing an email address to be used specifically for submittal of groundwater reports)
- Policy Updates
- Pre-application process (requirement that applicants attend a pre-application conference to discuss application requirements and findings of preliminary site investigation)
- Preliminary geotechnical report requirement (referencing Regulation No. 22 to submit a report that meets the requirements of Chapter 11 prior to submittal of the permit application)
