Ms. Katie Niebaum has announced her retirement from the Arkansas Advanced Energy Association (“AAEA”).
An Arkansas Business article states she is resigning from her position as Executive Director to prepare for the upcoming birth of twin girls.
AAEA describes itself as the business voice for advanced energy in Arkansas. The organization supports the utilization of advanced energy technology which is stated to include:
- Energy efficiency
- Demand response
- Natural gas electric generation
- Solar
- Wind
- Hydro
- Nuclear
- Electric vehicles
- Alternative fuels
- Smart grid
Prior to joining AAEA Ms. Niebaum served as Vice President for Communication for the National Restaurant Association in Washington, D.C. In addition, she worked for more than seven years in former United States Senator Blanche Lincoln’s office.
Ms. Niebaum is a graduate of the University of Virginia.
Ms. Niebaum indicated in the Arkansas Business article that she plans to return to policy work at some point in the future.
Arkansas Business also reports the former AAEA Executive Director and Founder, Steve Patterson, will serve in the interim during the organization’s search to fill the position.
