The Arkansas Environmental Federation (“AEF”) will hold its 50th Annual Convention and Trade Show (“Convention”) in Hot Springs, Arkansas on October 26th and 27th.
AEF describes the convention as the largest environmental meeting in the South and includes:
- AEF members
- Public policymakers
- Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (“ADEQ”) and United States Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) staff
- Vendors
- Students
- Professors
Key events will include:
- Tradeshow and vendor exhibits
- Environmental health and safety/technical sessions
- Golf scramble tournament
Keynote speakers include:
- Governor Asa Hutchinson (Invited)
- EPA Region 6 Administrator
- ADEQ Director Becky Keogh
- Officer Tommy Norman
A series of technical breakout sessions will be held on the afternoon of October 26th which will address:
- Air
- Water
- Land
- Safety & Health
I will be addressing in the Land breakout session the recent District of Columbia Circuit Court of Appeals decision that invalidated certain portions to the EPA revisions to the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act definition of “solid waste.”
