The Beaver Watershed Alliance (“BWA”) announced that its Board of Directors has selected Becky Roark as the organization’s new Executive Director.
BWA describes itself as a non-profit organization:
. . . focused on maintaining high quality drinking water in Beaver Lake and improve water quality within the Beaver Lake Watershed.
Ms. Roark has a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Arkansas. Her experience includes since 2010 working within the water quality and conservation fields in the Norwest Arkansas region. This experience has included directing and developing community programs for the non-profit sector, utilizing a technical background to assist communicates with both watershed management and advancement of watershed protection initiatives.
BWA quotes Ms. Roark as stating:
I believe that a community that is fully aware of the importance and vulnerability of its natural resources is a community that will actively engage and support efforts for watershed stewardship. We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to work with many partners, volunteers, landowners and community leaders that are willing to roll up their sleeves and work together for the cause of clean water and healthy watersheds. I look forward to working with our tremendously talented staff, dedicated board of directors, and partners to achieve goals and help protect our region’s drinking water source, Beaver Lake.
