The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, (“City”) Sustainability Officer Melinda Glasgow retired on May 28th.
Melinda had served as Sustainability Officer for the City since 2012.
The Little Rock Sustainability Officer is responsible for developing and coordinating various ongoing programs and events that promote sustainability within the City. Such activities are often conducted through community partnerships.
Accomplishments as Sustainability Officer have included:
- Launching LRecycles helping establish the City’s first residential single-stream recycling program
- Assisting in establishing the City’s first Sustainability Plan
Melinda previously served as City of Little Rock’s Recycling Coordinator since 2008. Melinda has also served as Executive Director of Keep Little Rock Beautiful since 2008.
Melinda’s son, J.T. Franklin, is currently developing three electric vehicle charging sites that will be located in Little Rock and Hot Springs. She plans on working part time at the Little Rock facility when it begins operation.
