Ms. Darcia L. Routh, P.G., of the Arkansas Department of Health (“ADH”) announced that she will retire at the end of December.
Ms. Routh has served for the past 12 years as a Geologist Supervisor and Manager in Source Water Protection in the ADH Drinking Water/Engineering Section.
Source Water Protection in the Drinking Water/Engineering Section addresses all aspects of the source water and wellhead protection programs for water systems in Arkansas. This includes evaluation of potential and current risks to drinking water supplies from natural and human causes. Additional responsibilities include review of regulatory permit decisions of other state and federal programs.

- Professional Geologist, Arkansas Department of Energy & Environment – Division of Environmental Quality
- Career Instructor/Academic Coordinator, Louisiana State University School of Geology and Geophysics
- Resource Developer, Children’s Hospital, New Orleans, Louisiana
- Graduate Student Specialist (Chaplain) Intervarsity Christian Fellowship USA, Tulane University
- Exploration Geologist, Shell Oil Company US
- Certified Master Naturalist/Certified Interpretive Guide, Arkansas Master Naturalist
Ms. Routh received a Bachelor of Science with Distinction, Geology University of Oklahoma and Master of Science with Thesis, Geology, from the University of Iowa.
