The Beaver Watershed Alliance (“BWA”) announced that Ms. Emily Finley has joined the organization as an Urban Watershed Specialist.
Ms. Finley’s responsibilities are stated to include:
. . . assist with Low Impact Development projects, urban forestry, urban streamside work, and will help advance the Beaver Lake Watershed Protection Strategy through community engagement, educational programming, and project implementation to help reduce nonpoint sources of pollutants in the Beaver Lake Watershed.
Ms. Finley previously worked with the Alliance on a part-time basis in April 2023 but is now with BWA on a full-time basis.
Educational background includes:
- Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Mississippi State University
- Master of Design with a concentration in Resiliency Design from the University of Arkansas, Fay Jones School of Architecture + Design
BWA describes its purpose as providing programming to maintain high quality drinking water in Beaver Lake and improve water quality on Beaver Lake Watershed. The organization states it represents a diverse stakeholder group from conservation, education, water utilities, technical and science, business, agriculture, recreation, and local government groups working together for the cause of clean water.
