The Illinois River Watershed Partnership (“IRWP”) announced Leif Kindberg is the organization’s new Executive Director.
Mr. Kindberg is described as having:
. . . more than 12 years of management experience in the private sector and with non-profit organizations in the United States and abroad.
This experience includes prior work in Tanzania with communities and the government to improve watershed management in two of that country’s largest water basins.
IRWP’s history is stated to date back to 2005 in which Northwest Arkansas leaders organized an Upper Illinois River Summit with 65 watershed stakeholders. This group is stated to have committed to public education to improve and protect water quality in the Illinois River. The group later in 2005 officially formed the IRWP.
