Ms. Stacie Wassell has been named Associate Director for the Office of Water Quality for the Arkansas Department of Entergy and Environment (“E&E”) – Division of Environmental Quality (“DEQ”).
Ms. Wassell replaces Allen York who was previously named E&E Director of Operations.
Ms. Wassell’s prior positions at DEQ include:
- Interim Associate Director of Water Quality
- Deputy Associate Director of Office of Water Quality
- Attorney Specialist – Office of Legal Services
Her degrees include:
- B. S. Biology – University of Arkansas at Little Rock
- M. S. Biology – University of Arkansas at Little Rock
- J. D. – University of Arkansas at Little Rock Bowen School of Law
A DEQ announcement regarding Ms. Wasssell’s promotion noted:
“Stacie has provided valued leadership in both her Deputy Associate Director position and as the interim Associate Director. Today, we are pleased to announce that Stacie has accepted the permanent position of Associate Director of OWQ.
Stacie’s background as a biologist, attorney, lab analyst and quality manager, licensed wastewater operator, and deputy in OWQ uniquely qualify her for this new role and have prepared her to lead OWQ “
The announcement also noted that Ms. Bailey Taylor will become the new Deputy Associate Director of the Office of Water Quality. She currently serves as Associate Environment Administrator at DEQ. A prior DEQ position was Enforcement Analyst in the Office of Water Quality.
