The Arkansas Environmental Policy Summit (“Summit”) will be held on October 27th in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Summit partners include:
- Arkansas Public Policy Panel
- Arkansas Environmental Defense Alliance
- Audubon Arkansas
- Sierra Club of Arkansas
- University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service
The Summit partners state that the event will:
. . . provide attendees with the opportunity to hear from leading experts on the current state of environmental issues. Attendees will learn how recent policy changes will affect our environment, our economy, the lives of Arkansans and what actions they can take to protect and improve our environment.
Agenda items include:
- Overview of Changes in the United States Environmental Policy and the Trump Administration
- Changes in the National Environmental Regulations and Policies: What they Mean for Arkansas
- Leading the Way at the Local Level
- Keynote Speaker – Al Armendariz, Senior Campaign Representative, Sierra Club’s Beyond Coal Campaign; Former United States Environmental Protection Agency Region 6 Administrator
- When the Well Runs Dry: A Depletion of Aquifers in Arkansas, Consequences and Alternatives
- Animal Feeding Operations: What Do they Mean to the Arkansas Environment?

- Climate Change: A Local Perspective
The Summit will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and registration includes lunch.
