As noted in a previous post, the Arkansas Oil Marketers Association (“AOMA”) has scheduled its Annual Environmental Workshop (“Workshop”) for August 30th at the Holiday Inn Airport in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Of special note, is the fact that the Director of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) Office of Underground Storage Tanks, Carolyn Hoskinson, will provide a keynote presentation.
The Office of Underground Storage Tanks is the section in EPA that administers the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Subtitle I regulations and provides oversight of the various state (including Arkansas) delegated programs.
Ms. Hoskinson has been the Director since 2009 and prior to that was Deputy Director. She also has served as an Environmental Protection Specialist and a Special Assistant in the agency’s Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response.
A focus of the workshop are the various environmental regulatory and legal issues associated with various types of facilities and operations that use, store, distribute, sell, process and refine petroleum products and fuels.
The speakers at the workshop will include:
- Carolyn Hoskinson, United States Environmental Protection Agency Office of Underground Storage Tanks
- Jarrod Zweifel, Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality Office of Land Resources – Remediation Senior Manager
