The Arkansas Oil Marketers Association (“AOMA”) has scheduled a Hazardous Materials Training Class for September 5th.
The class will be held in Russellville, Arkansas.
The United States Department of Transportation specifies training requirements for shipping hazardous materials pursuant to Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Compliance is critical to avoid significant civil penalties.
Covered employees must have an understanding of the rules that apply to their HAZMAT job function. Of course, regardless of regulatory concerns, compliance with the relevant regulations enhance safety.
The regulations may be applicable to anyone who prepares, marks, labels, certifies packages or signs shipping papers (associated with hazardous materials), including hazardous waste manifests and air waybills, for transportation in commerce – and are, therefore, subject to the Hazardous Materials regulations.
AOMA notes that the Russellville class will be the last class it holds in 2019.
