Little Rock, Arkansas native Jack Grundfest has been named President of St. Louis, Missouri based Alter Trading (“Alter”).
Jack had served since 2018 as Alter’s Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer.
Alter is a 120 year old privately held metal recycling company. It is one of the largest recyclers of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in the United States serving a variety of industrial clients and salvage operations. The company has operations in Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska and Wisconsin.
Fifteen of those facilities utilize on-site automobile shredders.
Jack joined Alter after it acquired Tenenbaum Recycling Group, LLC, (“Tenenbaum”) of Little Rock, Arkansas in 2018. He had served as President and Chief Executive Officer at Tenenbaum for almost 14 years.
At the time of its acquisition, Tenenbaum operated 10 scrap facilities in the State of Arkansas which included two automobile shredders.
Prior to joining Tenenbaum, Jack was Managing Director of the Mitchell Williams Law Firm in Little Rock.
Jack earned his B.A. from the University of Arkansas, his J.D. from the Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and his L.L.M. in taxation at the University of Denver School of Law.
Jack and Alter are active members of the Arkansas Recyclers Association.
