The Arkansas State Marketing Board for Recyclables and Compliance Advisory Panel (“Board”) is scheduled to meet on August 24th.
The meeting will be an in-person meeting at 11:00 a.m. at the Waste Management Two Pines Landfill, 100 Two Pine Drive, Little Rock, AR.
The Board meets quarterly and consists of five members who are appointed by the Governor. Its duties include advising and assisting the Arkansas Department of Energy & Environment – Division of Environmental Quality (“DEQ”) with:
. . . finding and maintaining markets for recyclable materials in Arkansas.
The Compliance Advisory Panel is described as a federal program established to help small businesses with their air permits.
The August 24th meeting include a tour of the Two Pines facility and information from Waste Management staff regarding their recycling process as well as information on the facility’s air permit.
The agenda items for the Board meeting include the following:
- Fiscal overview
- Review of panel requirements under Act 1067
- Vacant positions
- Introduction to new DEQ staff
The public is encouraged to attend the quarterly Board meetings. Registration may be accomplished by emailing Vanessa Kohrs at vanessa.kohrs@adeq.state.ar.us by 5 PM Friday, August 19, 2022.
