The Arkansas Water & Wastewater Managers Association (“AWWMA”) has scheduled its Fall 2021 Workshop (“Workshop”).
The Workshop will be held on November 2nd & 3rd at the Wyndham Riverfront Hotel in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
The AWWMA describes itself as a nonprofit organization formed in 1966 to promote continued education and professional development of water and wastewater management; the advancement and promotion of higher standards of qualification in the water and wastewater fields; the study, promotion and encouragement of improved water and wastewater management practices; the promotion of good public affairs in the community understanding, acceptance and support of water and wastewater operations; and the support of the Arkansas Water Works & Water Environmental Association, American Water Works Association, and Water Environment Federation.
Besides a Mix and Mingle (November 2nd) and business meeting, the Workshop will include educational sessions.
The educational sessions will include:
- Heifer International-Water Innovation with farming communities
- Natural Resources Division Arkansas Dept. of Agriculture discussing current loan and funding opportunities for water and wastewater facilities
- American Rescue Plan- Heath Ward, Springdale Utilities
- Value of Water- Jane Hurley, Central Arkansas Water
- ArDOT Utilities Division- Utility relocation program
- Legal Panel- Questions and answers on employment or human resources issues
I will be undertaking a presentation on the topic of “Environmental Justice.”
