Eugene Jamison undertook a presentation at the May 9th Arkansas Environmental Federation Air Seminar titled:
Balance of Power – How New Federal Regulations Affect the Future of Electric Generation (“Presentation”)
Eugene serves as Manager – Environmental Compliance at the Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation.
The Presentation addressed four overall topics:
- What is an Electric Cooperative?
- Resources – Dispatchable vs. Intermittent
- Barrage of Federal rules affecting “fossil fuel” electric generating units (“EGUs”)
- “Why should you care”
The Presentation addressed both Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (“AECC”) and the Arkansas Electric Cooperatives, Inc. (“AECI”) and their history. It further noted the role of the 17 electric distribution cooperatives including various service areas.
Eugene then addressed:

- Regional Transmission Organizations (i.e., Southwest Power Pool and MIS

- AECC Energy Portfolio in 2024
