The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (“ADEQ”) issued a news release stating the Beautiful Buffalo River Action Committee (“Committee”) will meet at the agency headquarters on June 19th.
The Committee was established by Governor Hutchinson in 2016 in order to develop an Arkansas-led, non-regulatory approach to identify opportunities in the Buffalo River Watershed.
The state agencies which comprise the Committee include:
- ADEQ
- Arkansas Department of Health
- Arkansas Agriculture Department
- Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism
- Arkansas Natural Resources Commission
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and Arkansas Geographic Information Systems Office are identified as supporting partners.
Agenda items are stated to include:
- Report on the final Buffalo River Watershed Management Plan (Arkansas Natural Resources Commission)
- Presentation by the U.S. Geological Survey on Mill Creek research in the Buffalo River Watershed
The meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m.
