The Beaver Watershed Alliance (“BWA”) has scheduled its Beaver lake Watershed Annual Symposium (“Symposium”).
The format will be held on September 24th as a Zoom webinar.
BWA states that the Symposium will feature:
- Landscape-scale conservation topics
- Agricultural best management practices for source water protection
Scheduled local-level topics will include:
- Alliance pond Optimization Project with Baylor University
- Water quality studies conducted in the West Fork watershed with the University of Arkansas Water Resources Center
- Virtual tour in the headwater of Rock Creek
- University of Arkansas Discovery Farms Program
Speakers will include:
- Arkansas Department of Agriculture – Natural Resources Division staff
- Edgar Mersiovsky, State Soil Science, U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service
- Larry Barry and Dr. Andrew Sharpley, University of Arkansas Crop, Soil and Environmental Sciences
- Dr. Brian Haggard, Arkansas Water Resources Center
- Dr. Thad Scott, Baylor University
The Symposium will be held from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. and is free to attend. Registration information can be found here.
