The Beaver Watershed Alliance (“BWA”) is hosting a Forest Management Workshop (“Workshop”) on November 2nd.
The Workshop will be held at the Hobbs State Park Visitor Center in Rogers, Arkansas.
The Workshop will address:
- Effective Forestry Management Strategies for Private Owners
- Timber Stand Improvement
- Dirt Road Management
- Improving Forest Stands for Wildlife While Earning Supplementary Income
- Sustainable Forestry Practices
- Ecological Thinning
- Prescribed Fire
- Invasive-Species Removal
- Managing Private Lands Around U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Easements
- Opportunities for Managing Private Timber Stands Through the Arkansas Forestry Association
The Workshop is stated to beneficial for landowners with any size forest.
Scheduled speakers are affiliated with the following organizations:
- U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
- Arkansas Forestry Association
- Hobbs State park
The Workshop will conclude with what is described as a “short walk” on the Ozark Plateau Trail to observe ongoing forestry stewardship activities at Hobbs State Park.
The Workshop will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and include lunch. There is no charge.
