The Beaver Watershed Alliance (“BWA”) announced it is holding an in-person Riparian Workshop and Voluntary Planting Event (“Workshop”) on Saturday, March 19th.
The Workshop will be held at the Clifty Fire Department in Huntsville, Arkansas.
Learning activities will include:
- Streambank Restoration Techniques
- How to Establish a Healthy Riparian Zone
- Plants to Utilize
- Reducing/Preventing Land Loss and Slowing Erosion
Speakers will include:
- Sean Sanders, Arkansas Game & Fish Commission Stream Team
- Josh Duzan, Natural State Streams
- Shonda Gamson, Moonlit Heights Native Plants
- Daniel Hagood, Alliance Stream & Forest Specialist
The Workshop will also include a hands-on planting event at a nearby stream restoration site.
The Riparian Workshop will be held from 10:00-11:45 and Voluntary Planning from 12:00-2:30. Lunch will be provided for all workshop attendees and the event is free. However, RSVP is required.
