The Beaver Watershed Alliance (“BWA”) has scheduled its next presentation in its 2017 speaker series titled Investing in Water Supply Protection in NWA.
The presentation will be held in Fayetteville, Arkansas on May 25th and is titled:
Next Generation Low Impact Development: Lessons Learned in Texas & Louisiana (“Presentation”)
The Presentation will be provided by Anthony Kendrick who is a Green Infrastructure Specialist with Construction EcoServices. He will address the water quality components of bioretention, including the design, construction, and maintenance challenges for implementing Green Infrastructure.
BWA notes that:
Green infrastructure systems and practices are used to restore and maintain natural processes in streams and rivers in order to reduce the hydrologic and water quality impacts of the built environment while providing multiple benefits. This approach to stormwater management can support urban sustainability and use limited financial resources by utilizing natural treatment abilities of plants, trees, and soil to protect water quality, reduce runoff volumes and recharge groundwater supplies.
The Presentation is suggested to be relevant to MS4s developers, contractors, property managers, landscape architects, architects, engineers and city/county planners.
Following the Presentation will be a demonstration that includes a field Hydraulic Conductivity performance test for an installed bioretention system near Remington Estates off Highway 265.
The Presentation will be held at the Engineering Research Center – AT&T conference room at the Arkansas Research and Technology Park. A free lunch is included.
