Betty DeLargy is an insurance regulatory and health law lawyer who focuses her practice on insurance industry matters including: regulatory matters, insurance company acquisitions, mergers, licensing and affiliate transactions, health insurance and managed care, self insured employee health benefit plans and other health law applications. She also represents health insurance companies writing individual policies, association group coverage and small and large employer coverages.


  • Represented many third party administrators, agents and Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangements, in obtaining and maintaining licenses with the Texas Department of Insurance.
  • Served as General Counsel for the Texas Health Insurance Pool, and in this role advised the Pool Board of Directors on health insurance matters and requirements for Open Meetings and Public Information.
  • Served as a member and past chair and director of the Federation of Regulatory Counsel.
  • Prior to joining Mitchell Williams, Betty was a shareholder with Long, Burner, Parks & DeLargy, P.C.
  • Held in-house counsel roles as Vice President and General Counsel for Transport Life Insurance Company in Ft. Worth, Texas, and as Legal Counsel for American Progressive Life Insurance Company in Nashville, Tennessee.
